Mk 2 Button

The BioKey Mk2 Button is our latest custom and proprietary data gathering for machine learning device, gathering vital data for the development of our platform and Sonus engine. Key health metrics are extracted in seconds, in real time. The devices are currently deployed in clinical trials and data gathering studies across the world, including in Asia and the US.

The Mk 2 device attaches to the user’s clothing using a magnetic fastener, and continuously gathers audio, temperature, and movement data. Building upon Mk1, we reduced the device footprint to be almost unnoticeable to the wearer, whilst retaining all of our core unique features.

High quality, easily collected data

Due to our audio-based AI, the Mk 2 is the only data gathering device on the market that can gather and analyse heart-rate, HRV and other cardiological issues such as arrhythmias or even atrial fibrillation without requiring users to endure a compressed, tight and often uncomfortable fit (and without relying on perspiration, like ECG bands). The Mk 2 makes data gathering for the Sonus Engine significantly easier, demonstrating thescaleability of audio-based solutions.

Extremely valuable, infinitely re-useable data

A single file collected by the Mk 2 can be analysed over and over again. That means that, as we expand the capability of our engine and the health metrics it detects, we simply re-use previous data collected by the Mk 2. The same data collected for cardiovascular studies has already been used to train the engine for cough detection and respiratory rate. This unique capability of audio data changes everything: enabling a self-sustaining loop for low-cost but highly exponential growth.

2022—current

The second of our data gathering for machine learning devices, an evolution from the original design. Made accessible across demographics, the Mk 2 stripped away the vest for a portable thumb-sized design. The Mk 2 is now our primary data-gathering and demonstration device, currently being deployed in clinical studies with the Sonus engine.

Mk 1 Vest

2019—2021

The first of our data gathering for machine learning devices, deployed for the very first data collection efforts. A proof of concept, the vests contained a sound-based module on the chest and were deployment in contexts such as the care sector where data needed to be sent directly to the cloud, without connecting to a phone or other third party device.

Mk 1 Vest

The Mk 1 smart clothing vest was a proof of concept of our technologies, and the first device that gathered data to train our engine. By incorporating the features of a digital stethoscope into a fully functional cellular LTE connected two-way communication device, we were able to continuously stream health data into the cloud for personal health monitoring without any setup or dependence on personal wireless networks. Simply put on the vest, and start collecting.

The Mk 1 was the final evolution of the original non-audio based Exoskeleton prototypes developed by founder Roeland Decorte when he founded the company between 2018-2020. The primary markets which deployed the vest were the care, elderly independent living, and Defence sectors (the R&D for Decorte’s original exoskeleton prototypes holding an endorsement from the UK Ministry of Defence). It was decided early on, however, that our focus would be on a mass market engine, rather than a sector-specific device - so we developed the Mk 2 as a more accessible data gathering device to continue developing our engine.

Sonus Engine

The primary use of the above devices is to gather data for our machine-learning Engine, which extracts human health data from audio
